Soybeans Fading Back on Tuesday AM Trade, as Conditions Recover

Soybeans are trading with 12 to 15 cent losses early on Wednesday. Futures were rallying on Tuesday, contracts 21 to 29 3/4 cents in the green at the close. Open interest popped 24,979 contracts higher, indicating net new buying. The cmdtyView national average Cash Bean price was up 11 ¾ cents at $12.62 1/4. Soymeal futures were up $1.80 to $7.40 on the day, with Soy Oil up 116 to 187 points. There were no delivery notices overnight against September beans, with none for September meal and 256 for September bean oil. 

On Monday afternoon, EPA announced they were granting 18 small refinery exemptions for 2025, with another 11 partial exemptions and denying 3. The total volume exempt was 1.76 billion RINs, with 100% of the difference between projected and actual exempt totals reallocated for 2026 and 2027 RVOs.

USDA reported a private export sale of 136,000 MT to China on Tuesday morning for 2026/27.

July soybean crush was released this afternoon with a total of 221.9 mbu of soybeans used by crushers in the month. That exceeded trade ideas, up 1.89% over June and was 8.16% larger than last year. Soybean oil stocks were seen at 1.963 billion lbs, down 6.4% from June and 4.73% above last year.

Monday’s Crop Progress data from NASS showed condition ratings down 2% at 58% gd/ex, with the Brugler500 index falling 4 points to 353. Deterioration was seen in IL (-1), KS (-17), KY (-15), LA/MN (-12), MS (-5), SD (-2), and WI (+6). Some improvement was noted in IN (+5), MI/NE/OH (+2), MO/ND (+4), and TN (+1).

StoneX estimates the Brazilian soybean crop at 183.5 MMT, which is up 0.4 MMT from the previous number.
