    Key Takeaways:

    • Startale Group chooses Sunnyside Labs to bring native privacy to its consumer-facing app.
    • Privacy Boost delivers 1,800+ transactions per second on Soneium to solve blockchain transparency issues.
    • Startale will expand private payment flows and Mini Apps as its ecosystem scales on the Sony blockchain.

    Infrastructure for Private Transfers

Startale Group announced April 28 that it has chosen Sunnyside Labs’ Privacy Boost as the official privacy partner for the Startale app, marking the protocol’s first integration into a consumer-facing crypto platform. Privacy Boost will deploy directly on Soneium, the blockchain developed by Sony Block Solutions Labs, and embed into the app to provide self-custodial, onchain privacy features.

The app, designed as a gateway to the onchain economy, supports asset management, payments, mini apps and ecosystem rewards. The partnership aims to address transparency issues in blockchain transactions, where balances, amounts and counterparties are visible by default.

According to a media statement, Privacy Boost uses a hybrid system of zero-knowledge proofs and trusted execution environments to enable private transfers with proof generation under 500 milliseconds and throughput above 1,800 transactions per second. The system maintains user control while allowing selective auditability for compliance.

“Not every transaction needs to be private, but every user should have the choice,” said Sota Watanabe, CEO of Startale Group. “With Privacy Boost integrated into the Startale app, privacy becomes something users can enable when it matters.”

Privacy Boost will deploy its full protocol stack on Soneium, including smart contracts and TEE infrastructure, making private transfers available as a native capability for developers. Within the Startale app, the integration will allow shielding assets into private pools, private transfers and privacy-preserving payment flows designed for future crypto card use.

“Startale is serious about bringing privacy to consumer crypto, from everyday payments and card spending to mini apps,” said Taem Park, co-founder and CEO of Sunnyside Labs. “These are exactly the use cases Privacy Boost was built for — high-performance privacy at consumer scale.”

The integration is expected to expand alongside the Startale app as it adds new payment flows, mini apps and ecosystem features, embedding privacy across user interactions.
